🚨 AG Bondi Launches Federal Terrorism Probe Into UC Berkeley Antifa Violence

The protests outside a conservative event at the University of California, Berkeley, have been designated a federal terrorism investigation, according to an explosive announcement made by Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday.

Bondi confirmed that the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force has opened an investigation into the “violent riots” that occurred outside a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) event on the UC Berkeley campus on Monday night. The Attorney General explicitly tied the violence to the anti-fascist movement, stating that the Justice Department will “unmask all who commit and orchestrate acts of political violence.”

The violence erupted outside Zellerbach Hall, the venue for the final stop of a TPUSA college tour. Tensions were already high due to the assassination of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk two months prior.

• • The Acts of Violence: Reports confirmed that multiple scuffles broke out between protesters and attendees, resulting in several arrests. Key violent acts cited include:
    • A 45-year-old man attending the event was struck by a glass bottle and transported to the hospital with a head laceration.
    • One man was charged with robbery and battery after allegedly snatching a chain necklace from an attendee, sparking a physical altercation.
    • Protesters threw smoke bombs and attempted to break through police barricades as attendees lined up to enter the venue.

• The Response: The event, which ultimately proceeded safely for the 900+ attendees, was secured by a large, coordinated police presence from the City of Berkeley Police, campus police, and the California Highway Patrol.

Attorney General Bondi did not mince words regarding the target of the federal investigation. In a statement on X, she wrote:

“Antifa is an existential threat to our nation. The violent riots at UC Berkeley last night are under full investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force.”

This move is the latest, and perhaps most aggressive, implementation of President Donald Trump’s Executive Order designating antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization.”

The Civil Rights Division of the DOJ, led by Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, announced a separate civil rights probe that will examine “potential failures at UC Berkeley” and look into “any who enabled such violence.”
