💔 Trump Says Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Lost Her Way’ Over Inflation Criticism

For years, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been one of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken and unwavering allies in Congress. However, that rock-solid political alliance hit a very public snag this week after Greene dared to criticize the former President’s priorities, accusing him of spending too much time on foreign affairs and not enough on urgent domestic issues like inflation and the rising cost of living.

President Trump, never one to let criticism go unchallenged, fired back swiftly on Monday, stating his key Republican ally had “lost her way” and suggesting she was starting to sound like a Democrat. The highly unusual public spat signals a significant ideological crack within the “America First” movement, pitting policy focus against political loyalty.

🧭 The Core Conflict: Globalism vs. America Only

The genesis of the rift lies in Greene’s recent media appearances where she articulated a growing frustration among the populist base: that the current political discourse, even within the GOP, is too focused on global crises and international conflicts while ignoring the persistent financial pain felt in American households.

Greene’s Scrutiny of Priorities

Greene’s specific critique was aimed at the White House’s attention to issues like the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and diplomatic meetings with international leaders. She publicly stated that “watching the foreign leaders come to the White House through a revolving door is not helping Americans,” emphasizing that her constituents remain concerned about consistently high prices. She went on to criticize the lack of Republican momentum on critical domestic legislative issues, including an unclear plan for the looming expiration of the Affordable Care Act subsidies.

This position—an “America First America Only!!!” posture—is a clear challenge to President Trump’s efforts to project strength and stability on the global stage, asserting that the only proper focus for the White House should be the economic well-being of the American worker.

Trump’s Immediate Retort

President Trump, who was speaking during a swearing-in ceremony in the Oval Office, bristled at the idea that he should ignore international matters. He defended his global focus by stating he views the presidency “as a worldwide situation,” arguing that he must actively work to prevent a “world that’s on fire.”

Crucially, his counter-attack was not just a policy defense; it was a character assault on Greene’s loyalty. He suggested she was “now catering to the other side” by adopting Democratic talking points and appearing on adversarial media shows like The View. He expressed confusion and disappointment, concluding: “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie, nice woman, but she’s lost her way, I think.”

💥 The Political Fallout and Reaffirmation

The public dispute prompted an immediate social media response from Greene, who firmly asserted that her loyalty is not to any one person, but to her constituents and her principles. She defiantly posted on X (formerly Twitter): “The only way is through Jesus. That’s my way, and I’ve definitely not lost it…” She further reaffirmed her commitment to an “America First America Only!!!” agenda, making it clear that her job is to represent her constituents and the American people, “no one else.”

This split is highly consequential. Greene has been instrumental in rallying the populist wing of the party. Her criticism—particularly on core domestic issues like inflation and healthcare—signals that the MAGA coalition may not be as monolithic as previously assumed. It shows that some prominent Republican voices are willing to challenge President Trump when they believe his focus strays too far from the economic hardships felt on the home front. The challenge now for both figures is whether this disagreement on priorities can be contained, or if it will open a larger schism in the party’s ideological direction.
